1. What is Liberals Creating Progress?Liberals Creating Progress is a Community of people from all over the Country and World who want to share ideas, encouragement and their time to help Americans achieve social justice. While there are sites out there we all know and use daily that help people make connections and share information they (it) do not do a great job of facilitating collaborative work groups. This website is designed to help any group interested in promoting Progressive change in America organize their people and work to achieve their goals.
2. What’s different about this site than the one I use every day?
The main difference is the work you do, the information you post and share does not simply drift down the page into history as a waterfall of new posts hit your page. You can select a post as a “Favorite” and essentially bookmark it for future reference! You can post, share and save your Links again viewing them anytime you wish to. On that Other site we all use the links we post on our walls again will drift down the page into history as new posts are made on our feeds and well wouldn’t it be nice to be able to save the great ones we find? Now we can!
3. What else is different about this site than the blue n white site we all use daily?
Ok well another difference is you can rate each post or vote up or down a post, reply or comment rather than only being able to Like them. You can also reply to a post and add a youtube video link in your comment/reply!
4. Whats the Questions thing?
We want to work together to crate a large and helpful database or collection of information that can help all of us achieve our goals. So what we do is post a question like “What’s a good response to a Republican when they say the Rich create all the jobs?” and then we all post our best replies to the Answers section of that Question! In this way we all work together to create an information resource that benefits the Progressive and Democratic community!
5. What are “Achievements”?
As you use the site you will gain reward points and badges for contributing to the community. We have plans to post some actual prizes for people who gain the most points!
6. How are the Groups here different than my normal Group on that other site?
Every Group comes with a Group Forum. This area is like the “Wall” you’re used to but it stays in one place. Your “posts” are presented as “Topics” and replies to that topic are shown below your initial Post. This lets you work on ideas and projects and be able to easily reference the history of your conversation anytime in the future.
You can also use the Group “ToDo” or Project Manager. Your Group Owner or Leader can create Tasks and ToDo lists and assign them to Group Members. These assignments will show up in your members News Feeds and alert them when they are due! Pretty cool huh?
7. What is the Forum?
The Forum is like the Forums that come with Groups except this one is for the entire Liberals Creating Progress Community!
8. Can I invite people to join?
Yes! But please make sure they are positive constructive people and their goals are aligned with the Communities Goals. People who turn out to be too negative and disruptive will be asked to change their ways politely and then if they don’t see the light shown the door. We have a lot of work to do and the requires patience, understanding and commitment!
