Hire The Peoples Congress & Fire The Corporate Congress
Things are not working for the average American…
Things are not working for us, our families, and our communities today.
It should not be this difficult to get ahead in life!
We need to try something different!
Albert Einstein once said that one definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results!
Money is equal to Speech! Corporations are People! So our Supreme Court says yet we all know neither is true.
During the last 4 years of the recovery from the economic crash 93% of the economic gains have gone to the top 1% wealthiest citizens. So if money equaled speech, then that would mean that these richest, most well connected people and corporations among us would have a voice so loud that you and I could never be heard! If your priorities of affordable quality education, affordable and universal healthcare, access to jobs with increasing wages, safe and secure retirements among others are not being addressed as urgently as you’d like then you now know why! Your voice, my voice, our voices are not being heard above the loud deafening sounds of the well off and well connected. We can make things better.
The way things are now, you have to be rich or backed by those who are, to run for office. Whoever spends the most money almost always wins. That is why we are not sending the most capable and best qualified people to represent us and our priorities in government. Our current system of letting massive Corporate monopolies, undisclosed donors. and entrenched politicians pick our Congressional representatives for us is not working for the vast majority of Americans like you and me. If it was working we would see a more even distribution of the gains of our economy, and a healthier even happier population. We are all working harder than ever before. We are not a lazy people. We are good, hard working, generous and intelligent, and our hard work should be resulting in a better life for our families! Our wages and benefits should be increasing at least on par with the gains of the stock market and corporate CEO’s.
The way we choose our Congressional and other Candidates is deeply flawed and ends up delivering every American extremely sub optimal results. There are people in our communities, teachers, students, engineers, artists, business leaders and service workers who can bring new ideas and the ability to collaborate to our Congress. We don’t need a Congress of millionaire lawyers, that isn’t working. Congress can’t do any good until you and I do better at deciding who we send there.

We can start by telling our Congress people and Candidates for Congress if they want our vote they must say NO to Corporate special interest money and Yes to overturning Citizens United!
I am not suggesting all Democrats, Independents and Progressives suddenly and simultaneously forgo all fundraising of big $ donations, but instead we Begin a systematic transition to that. Principled Ideas presented by candidates who understand that Democracy and Economic Growth comes from the Bottom Up, and Face to Face canvasing DOES defeat money.
We MUST start somewhere! Why not here! Why not now!
Otherwise we are all just helping to build and maintain a corrupt system that maintains an immoral level of inequality.
